The New Structural Economics Experimental Class at Nanchang University was first launched in 2020, admitting 15–20 students annually through a university-wide selection process. The program is committed to personalized, small-class, and internationally oriented education.
The experimental class implements a management model combining tutorial system, college system, and credit system, with a dynamic withdrawal mechanism. The class is led by Professor Yaobin Liu and internationally renowned scholar Professor Jianqiang Li, and consists of an excellent faculty team composed of young doctors from well-known domestic and foreign universities such as the National University of Singapore and Peking University. It provides students with personalized training programs, one-on-one tutor guidance, and learning path design, with each student assigned an academic tutor with high teaching and research capabilities. Emphasizing the cultivation of students' theoretical and practical abilities, the class fully utilizes superior resources at home and abroad to guide students to participate in academic exploration and academic frontier seminars and exchanges. Every year, a certain number of students are selected to directly participate in the summer camp activities of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University. Following the college system management, students live in a centralized manner to cultivate their independent learning, interdisciplinary literacy, and social communication abilities, realizing their all-round development. Students' academic records are managed specially, and a complete credit system is implemented. Those who meet the professional graduation requirements and degree requirements will be awarded graduation certificates and degree certificates.
