On the morning of March 29, 2026, the Kick-off Consultation Meeting for the Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) "Research on the Supporting Conditions and Fundamental Trends of China's Long-term Positive Economic Outlook,"was successfully held at Qianhu Hotel, Nanchang University. The project is led by Chief Expert Professor Jian Xinhua, Distinguished Professor of Nanchang University. Luo Sihai, Secretary of the CPC Nanchang University Committee; Ping Weiyin, Member of the CPC Nanchang University Standing Committee and Vice President of the University; Wu Feng, Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Social Science Planning Office, attended the meeting. Key representatives from the Office of Social Science Research, the School of Economics and Management, and members of the project team also participated.

Distinguished experts invited to the meeting included Professor Hong Yinxing, former Secretary of the CPC Committee and Senior Professor of Humanities at Nanjing University; Professor Liu Wei, former President and First-Level Professor at Renmin University of China; Professor Gao Peiyong, former Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Member of the CASS Academic Divisions; Professor Ouyang Yao, former Vice President of Hunan Normal University and  Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University; Professor Guo Xibao, former Director of the Economic Development Research Center at Wuhan University and Distinguished Professor at Guangxi Normal University; Professor Jiang Yongmu, Dean of the School of Marxism at Sichuan University; Professor Zhang Jianhua, Dean of the School of Economics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology; and Professor He Zili, former Vice Dean of the School of Economics at Nankai University.

In his opening address, Secretary Luo Sihai extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all experts. He noted that Nanchang University attaches great importance to the development of theoretical economics, and the successful approval of this major project reflects the comprehensive strength of theoretical economics at the university..

Director Wu Feng, on behalf of the Jiangxi Provincial Social Science Planning Office, put forward specific requirements for the project, including adhering to the correct academic orientation, strengthening the awareness of high-quality achievements, and emphasizing the transformation of research outcomes.

Kuang Xuewen, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, pledged full support and service to ensure the high-quality progress of the project and promote disciplinary development.

Chief expert Prof. Jian Xinhua presented the project's research plan and sought expert advice on two key questions: first, what Marxist political economy theories and scientific methods are needed to scientifically analyze the long-term positive trend of China’s economy; second, how to dialectically assess the favorable conditions, unfavorable factors and underlying causes of China’s economic development in the new era.

The expert panel highly recognized the significant theoretical value and practical significance of the project and fully acknowledged the preliminary work. They offered valuable suggestions on core concept definition, research framework design, research perspective expansion and methodological innovation. Finally, Prof. Jian Xinhua expressed sincere gratitude to the experts on behalf of the project team, stating that their insights and suggestions have opened new directions for the project. The team will earnestly absorb all suggestions and strive to complete the project with high quality within the scheduled time, contributing to China’s economic development in the new era.
